PROBUS CLUB OF PITTWATER
GOLF CLUB COMPETITION
Graham Morley, Golf Convener email here
Members are invited to meet for a friendly and relaxed round of golf at Palm Beach Golf course on the second Friday of each month, the first Friday following our Probus meeting.
Hit off time is 10am and following the round of 9 holes, a lunch is enjoyed at Club Palm Beach ( RSL Club) An official handicap is not essential as new players receive a provisional handicap and this is adjusted following results from progressive rounds. The aim is to cater for a wide range of golfing abilities with a broad handicap range so that all scores are competitive.
Results are based on Stableford points with some players allowed up to 3 handicap points on some holes. This means in general that 8 is the maximum score that needs to be recorded on any one hole. This together with 150mm preferred lies through the green speeds up the round and gives relief to players “stuck in a bunker”. These advantages together with the introduction of the proposed official (R&A,USGA) modified rules in 2019 will make Golf a more enjoyable experience.
A recirculating Monthly Trophy is presented at the following Probus meeting and a golf ball competition is run in conjunction with the round. An Outstanding Golfer Trophy will be presented this year at the Christmas Lunch, awarded to the payer who has had the best 3 rounds of golf during that year.
Come and participate in a game where we can enjoy a walk, view, camaraderie, and fish and chips for lunch.
